How to: BEAT the Wrinkles

Hi all! Today's post is all about how to remove and minimise the appearance of wrinkles. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. Here's the tips and tricks in making those unwanted wrinkle to disappear.

1. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Most wrinkles are caused by sun damage. Further color and texture changes and deepening of wrinkles can be avoided with religious use of an SPF 15 or higher.

2. Don't rely on your makeup. While many foundations offer some sun protection (they may even boast an SPF on the bottle), you'd need to apply several teaspoons to get adequate coverage. Use a separate sunscreen instead.

3. Invest in sunglasses. Squinting in bright sun can exacerbate wrinkles around the eyes. A basic pair of UV-blocking shades works wonders to stave off these wrinkles!

4. Watch your expressions. Years of brow furrowing or resting your cheek on your hand can cause wrinkles to form. Take note of your repetitive facial gestures and put a stop to those that are affecting your skin.

I hope these few tricks can help you to get rid of those irritating wrinkles!

Fruits that aids you getting your radiant looking skin

Here is an all-natural face and skin cleanser-beautifier using available fruits, based on an Indian regimen. Follow the simple procedures to have a more radiant looking skin:
Apples:
Apples can used as great conditioner and toner. They have been used for centuries for their skin-healing powers. Add a cup of apple juice to your bath to cleanse and soften your skin. The juice of apple can be used as breathe freshener. Apple juice when applied to your hair scalp can prevent dandruff. Use as a final rinse after shampooing your hair.
Banana:
Banana can be used for moisturizing and soothing your skin and hair. They are rich in protein and natural fats and can be used by all skin types. An easy facemask that will make your skin smooth is to apply mashed banana over your skin and keep it for 15 minutes, rinse off with warm water and moisturize well. Mashed banana also makes a wonderful hair conditioner mixed with a teaspoon or two of honey.
Lemons:
A classic home beauty ingredient, lemons are used to cleanse and freshen the skin and hair. Use lemon slices to soften rough skin spots such as elbows and heels. Lemon slices also help deodorize and mix a few teaspoons of lemon juice in your bath and you will feel fresh the whole day. Lemon juice can be added to your favorite cleanser or shampoo to refresh and tone your scalp. It also helps prevent dandruff.
Papaya:
Papaya is rich in natural enzymes and is the best treatment for cleansing your skin. For having a fresh and glowing skin apply the oaste of mashed papaya and 3 teaspoons of aloe vera gel and massage all over your body monthly. Leave on your skin for no more than five minutes and rinse thoroughly. Do not use on your face and avoid sensitive skin areas.
Peaches:
Peaches are best for soothing and cleansing dry skin. Mash a fresh peach and combine with a tablespoon of plain yogurt to make a smooth paste. Apply on the skin and keep it for 15 mins and then wash off with cold water.
Pineapple:
Like papaya pineapples are also good skin softeners, which cleanse and rejuvenate dull and dry skin, especially for classic rough skin spots like knees, elbows, and heels. Use a slice of pineapple as you would a sponge or loofah to scrub your body in the bath or shower.
Strawberry:
Strawberry can be used for conditioning and skin toning treatment. They are rich in salicylic acid an ingredient found in many commercial acne creams and thus are the best treatment for troubled or teenage skin. Mix 1/2-cup fresh strawberries with a tablespoon of sour cream for a weekly facial mask. Eating fresh berries will also help whiten your teeth and keep your breath fresh.

8 Ways for a Beautiful Pimple-free Face

1. Skin Cleansing Regimen
The basic trick is to always keep your skin as dirt free as possible. That is keeping it clean by a daily cleansing routine. Water alone can not prevent pimples on getting on your face, but a mild soap and warm water tandem can eliminate excessive dirts and oils clogging the pores. Using warm water loosens up the pores, thus giving you chances on removing those stacked up dirt and rinsing with cool water closes them up. Mild soap is the safest to use if you don’t know your skin type. To help prevent the oil buildup that can contribute to acne, wash your face twice a day with a mild soap and warm water. Don't scrub your face hard with a washcloth — acne can't be scrubbed away, and scrubbing may actually make it worse by irritating the skin and pores. Try cleansing your face as gently as you can. Remember adding more than enough oils to your skin would only adding clogs to the skin. The easier your skin breaths, the lesser problems they will give you and you will need a lot of patience and discipline to do it!

2 Don’t Over clean
Over cleansing can mean washing your face more than necessary or by using a too harsh cleaner. It is destructive to the skin’s function because it strips away the natural oils and disrupts the protective layer of the skin leading to dryness and irritations.
Cleansing products should not contain deodorants, they may aggravate your skin and eventually clog the pores. Apply a moisturizer to replenish the skin after each cleanse.
3. Avoid using too much makeup or going to bed with makeup on.
Make- ups often contain potential skin irritants and should be used minimally. If left overnight, percolates your pores, clogs and congests your skin. Be sure to wash your face before going to bed and after waking up before you put on another one. After removing make up, awash your face again to cleanse up the face.
4. Change your Pillowcase more often
Make sure to clean your pillowcase regularly, they are your face’s best friend. Your face comes in contact every night with the pillow case and leaving some oils and germs. Constant rubbing (while sleeping) can cause pimple outbreak or even acne. Wash or change your pillow cases weekly.
5. Lessen the tensions
Stress doesn't usually cause acne. Realize that pimples are often the result of hormonal shifts and will go away once the hormone irregularity is corrected. Stress, although it can make existing acne worse because stress increases sebum production. So try to relax a bit to control the process.
6. Dump some myths
There are also myths about what helps make acne better. Acne isn't really helped by the sun. Although a tan can temporarily make acne look less severe, it won't help it go away permanently — and some people find that the oils their skin produces after being in the sun make their pimples worse.
7. Remove skin radicals
To have beautiful, soft, radiant face, you need to eat plenty of the right stuff: fresh fruits, vegetables, fiber, and water. Water and fiber are critical because it helps to move out toxins using the regular channels of elimination rather than using the skin as an exit point. Eat healthy – proper diet and vitamin intake is vital for healthy skin. Drinking water also helps skin look and feel better by hydrating the skin.
8. A Healthy living
Well of course, basically we know the rules on keeping our body healthy by avoiding too much drinking alcohols, smoking, and unbalanced sleeping habits. These contribute to the impairment of the body hormone regulations should be lessened or skipped. Likewise a good exercise, sweating it out a little can help remove the toxins out of the body. Make sure to shower or wash your face every sessions to lessen the possibility of dirt reentry in your pores.

Getting rid of dark circles

Troubled over those dark circles?
Simple tips and tricks you can implement and get rid of dark circles under eyes the natural way:

Tip #1: Eat Healthy - ' You are what you eat'

In the previous post by SimplyBeautilicious, we have emphasized on eating beauty food to stay healthy and look good at the same time!
You might ask, "What does this have to do with dark circles?" Well, the skin, amazingly, is the largest organ in your body. If you aren’t providing your skin with adequate nutrients and in the correct ratio, you will start to see signs of premature aging such as dark circles.
And remember, nothing that you can apply to the outside of your skin can beat the results you will see from healing within! So start eating smart :)

Tip #2: Exercise your facial muscles!
Eye Massage For Dark Circles
(http://www.eyedarkcircles.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Eye-Massage.jpg)

You might have noticed that some people spend a part of each day exercising. This is because there is no gravity in space, and muscles that are not used can actually start to disintegrate.
Your face is supported by a muscular system; neglecting to strengthen and tone your face can increase age-related symptoms such as dark circles under your eyes.
While skin creams may add necessary nutrients to targeted areas of your face, eye creams do not have the ability to rebuild and tone your facial structure and, at best, provide only a temporary solution.

Tip #3: Shape your habits!

Your overall lifestyle is what determines your ability to fight the signs of aging, so a healthy lifestyle should be a part of any skin-care and anti-aging regimen.
While you have discovered the three most important factors necessary to fight dark circles, you need a way to apply this knowledge. Using general good habits may increase your youthful appearance, but the best results are seen when you apply healthy habits along with a targeted plan.

Most importantly, SMILE and stay happy always!

Poem of the day!!

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years only grows!

DIY Manicure & Pedicure!

Love going for manicures and pedicures but just can't seem to find the time. Not to worry. Here is how you can Do-It-Yourself at home!

1. Clean up: Remove any nail polish and clip and file nails.

2. Soak: In a large bowl or bathtub, put Epsom salts, milk or essential oils (not all together) into warm water to create a luxurious, at-home spa experience. Put olive oil, baby oil or any oil you have at home onto your cuticles while you’re soaking.

3. Next: Push back cuticles with a cuticle stick after soaking, but don’t cut cuticles at home. We recommend only trimming hangnails or ragged cuticles on the side. The reason? If you trim your cuticles the wrong way, it can actually cause damage and peeling. Not pretty.

4. Exfoliate: If you don’t have an exfoliation scrub, make one with sugar or salt and olive oil. You can also add lemon or lime for extra kick. The texture from sugar and salt will scrub your dead skin off. After exfoliating, scrub your calluses on your feet with a pumice stone. Rinse well.

5. Ahh, relax: Place a moist towel warmed in the microwave just like they do at the nail salon on your hands and feet. It revs up circulation and it feels really good.

6. Moisturize and prep: Use a non-greasy lotion to moisturize your hands and feet. Next, remove any oil and lotion residue on your nails with a non-acetone nail polish remover or alcohol. This is an important step: your nail polish will not last if there’s any greasiness on your nails.

7. Base coat: If you have weak nails, use a nail strengthener in place of a base coat. Otherwise, apply one coat of base coat.

8. Paint: Carefully apply two layers of nail color and make sure the polish dries in between coats.

9. Top coat: Then, one coat of top coat will seal your nails—preferably a quick dry top coat.

*psst* Nail salon trick: Touch up the edge of your nails with color and top coat because color comes off there first. Plus, it will look finished and professional—like you got them done at a salon.

10. Lastly: To ensure your nail products retain freshness. Store top coats, base coats and nail color in the refrigerator. Their shelf life is about 2 years.

How to have Gorgeous and Healthy Nails

Fingernail care: Do's and Don'ts
To keep your fingernails looking their best, follow these simple guidelines.
Dos:
Keep your fingernails dry and clean. This prevents bacteria, fungi and other organisms from growing under your fingernails. Wear cotton-lined rubber gloves when washing dishes, cleaning or using harsh chemicals, and avoid long soaks in the tub.

Trim and file your fingernails regularly. Use a sharp manicure scissors or clippers. Trim your nails straight across, then round the tips in a gentle curve. It might be easiest to trim and file your fingernails when they're soft, such as after bathing.

Use moisturizer. When you use hand lotion, rub the lotion into your fingernails and cuticles, too.

Don'ts:
Abuse your fingernails.
To prevent nail damage, don't use your fingernails as tools to pick, poke or pry things.

Bite your fingernails or pick at your cuticles. These habits can damage the nail bed. Even a minor cut alongside your fingernail can allow bacteria or fungi to enter and cause an infection.

Pull off hangnails. You might rip live tissue along with the hangnail. Instead, carefully clip off hangnails.

Ignore problems. If you have a nail problem that doesn't seem to go away on its own or is associated with other signs and symptoms, consult your doctor or dermatologist for an evaluation.

A note about manicures and pedicures

If you rely on manicures or pedicures for healthy looking nails, keep a few things in mind. Stick to salons that display a current state license, and work only with technicians also licensed by the state board. Don't have your cuticles removed — it can lead to nail infection. Also, make sure your nail technician properly sterilizes all tools used during your procedure. Various infections can spread through the use of unsterilised tools. You might also ask how the foot baths are cleaned. Ideally, a bleach solution is used between clients and the filters are cleaned regularly.

It's easy to neglect your nails — but there's much you can do to keep your fingernails healthy and strong. Start with basic fingernail care.

Lip Care - Here's What You Can Do..

~Do It Yourself~

DIY Beeswax-Based Lip Balm
You will need:

-Half a teaspoon of beeswax
-Half a teaspoon of cacao butter
-Two teaspoon of oil (almond or grapeseed oil, for instance)
-Food flavors
-A lipstick container

Mixed all the ingredients together and put it in the lipstick container, then you are ready for a DIY lip balm!!

DIY Lip Scrub

You will need:
1/4 teaspoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon brown sugar or
Small glass container or bowl for mixing

Mix together 1/4 teaspoon olive oil and 1/8 teaspoon brown sugar in a glass container or bowl.  After that, apply to lips, gently rubbing in a circular motion.  Rinse off excess with water.  The brown sugar will rinse off leaving a small amount of the olive oil behind, which adds moisture and a little shine to your lips.  This can then be followed up with your favorite all-natural lip balm if desired.

Alternatively, you can also use:
1 teaspoon of honey
2 teaspoon of sugar
Mixed both ingredients until sticky and rub it to your lip and leave it for 2 minutes!!

Did You Know?
There are different types of lips as well as its thickness.
Four Types of Lips Width (thickness)
      I.        Thin

    II.        Medium
   III.        Thick
  IV.        Inverted

Lips can change shape and volume. This occurs when the compression or stretching of the lips, while deterring coughing or laughing, with a smile or yawn.
Men:  50 and 55 mm respectively.
Women: 40 and 48 mm respectively.
Children: The size of the lips and mouth slits is much smaller and proportional to age

Choose your style!

            Classic:
This style of lip augmentation is a subtle, yet produces a distinctive formation of all the 5 natural planes that exist in the lips. Women who have last volume through aging and those who want a subtle augmentation choose this style.

           Rubina:
It is the full expression of the natural 5 planes that exist in the lips. This means that any more material placed in the lips will distort these forms. Rubina lips are heavily dependent on the facial structure of the woman wanting this look. If they have enough length to their face from the bottom of the nose to the chin, then this can be a very pleasing style.

           Cupid:
Cupid form is the rarest form of all lips. The Cupid lip form has a very powerful youthful presentation. This is because Cupid lip form is very prominent in pre adolescent females.

           Pearlique:
This lip style accentuates the lower lip. Pearlique is the opposite of the Cupid style. By accenting the two teardrop shapes a more youthful, voluminous effect is achieved. Since Pearlique is isolated to the lower lip, it is able to be combined with other looks. Pearlique complements looks such as Cupid and Rubina very well.

           Hollywood:
This style is ideal for women who desire attention to their lips without a full presentation of both upper and lower lip. This style is seen frequently in movie and entertainment personalities. This lip style potentiates all three forms of the upper lip, which are the two tapering rhomboid shapes and the half bucket on the middle of the upper lip.

           Angelic:
Angelic form is another full expression of the upper lip. This lip form potentiates the lateral borders of the upper lip, specifically Segments 1 and 3, Zone B. This is a pleasing form for patients with fuller volume in upper lip combined with a narrow lip length; it elongates and shapes the upper lip like angel’s wings.

Tips!
Morning Lips
Brush your lips with a soft baby toothbrush and apply some lip balm to it.
Every Day Lips
Avoid over exposure to sunrays and apply lipstick with moisturizers and sunscreen in it.
Bed Time Lips
Apply moisturising cream.
