We are what we eat and this holds true for our hair too!  If your diet is poor then you may experience symptoms such as hair that is too dry or too greasy, dandruff or may even result in hair loss. However, do not fear as Simply Beautilicious team is here to recommend some food that it is good for your hair!
  • Salmon. It is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, has high source of protein and is filled with vitamin B-12 and iron. According to Andrea Giancoli, MPH, RD, a dietitian in Los Angeles and a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, "Essential omega-3 fatty acids are needed to support scalp health and a deficiency can result in a dry scalp and thus hair, giving it a dull look."
  • Carrots. They are an excellent source of vitamin A, which promotes a healthy scalp along with good vision.
  • Eggs & Chicken. As hair is mostly made of protein so a diet rich in protein helps to encourage hair growth and prevent hair loss. Eggs are a great source of sulphur which helps keep the hair follicles in good health whereas Chicken is a good source of protein.
  • Dark Green Vegetables. Examples of such are Spinach and broccoli which are rich in vitamin A and vitamin C. These help your body to produce sebum. Sebum is an oily substance, secreted by your hair follicles and is the body's natural hair conditioner. They also provide iron and calcium.
  • Almonds. They contain protein, which gives your hair strength, and the mineral zinc, which keeps it thick.
  • Water. Consuming at least eight glasses of water per day will help transport the needed nutrients to your hair and help keep your hair strands hydrated and strong.

Use rosemary to make thin hair stronger and fuller!
Rosemary strengthens hair and aids in the growth of new hair.

Instructions: Warm over low heat, a cup of olive oil with a few rosemary sprigs. Let cool then massage into the scalp. Leave oil on the scalp for at least 15 minutes. Wrap with a warm towel. When you are done, shampoo as usual.
